Steve started his own insurance agency in the San Diego area shortly after graduating from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance.  In 1979, Steve joined his brother and father at Kessler, bringing with him an extensive background in all phases of property and casualty insurance.  He developed a large book of national accounts over time, expanding his knowledge of multi-location, sophisticated accounts.
 
As the organization grew, he assumed the role of Secretary/Treasurer before assuming the duties of Chief Executive Officer in June 2001.  Under Steve's leadership, the agency earned Marshberry's Leverage Award.  
 
Currently, Steve is responsible for the overall management of the agency’s operations, which includes Employee Benefits, Private Client Services and Commercial Lines. A strong believer in technology, Steve, with the help of the firm’s IT department created a functional disaster recovery site for ongoing operations in the event of a local catastrophe.
